What Are The Best Kept Secrets About Foot
Massage?
A foot massage is very relaxing and rejuvenating.
However, some of the best kept secrets make it hard
to give the best massage. Fortunately, a better
understanding of these secrets helps you learn the
right technique to give a massage. Walking through
your hectic routines in Singapore throughout the day
can take their toll on the feet. Whether you’ve been
standing in your company’s research lab or standing
at a trade show in Singapore, your feet also need
some rest. In this post, we’ve discussed the secrets
to help you give the best massage.
Soak the Feet in Warm Water
You should start by properly soaking your feet in
warm water for about 10 minutes. You can even add
scented oil if you want. This can help warm and
clean your feet, and even provide aromatherapy if
the scented oil is added to water. You should use a
warm towel to dry your feet.
Relax Yourself
Sit back or lay down to relax yourself. Your legs
and feet need to be supported by a soft surface,
such as sofa, bed or table. If someone else is
giving you the massage, ask the person to give your
feet support. You should massage only one foot at a
time. The other foot needs to be wrapped in a towel.
This keeps your foot warm.
Use Lotion or Oil
For a foot massage, you can also use a lotion or
oil. You should run warm water over the hands to
warm them before beginning your massage. You should
rub the lotion or oil on the entire foot, and even
the ankle.
Warm Up Your Feet
It’s important to perform some basic stretches to
warm up your foot. You should gently stretch your
foot down and up, and even in circles. Your one hand
should be supporting and cupping the heel, and the
other hand should be moving your foot from the ankle
joint.
Squeeze the Foot Gently
You need to place your foot back down on to your
supporting surface. The next step is to squeeze your
foot with both hands. You should start at the toes,
and work the way up to your ankles and back down.
Your one hand should grasp the inside of your foot,
and other should grasp the outside of the foot.
Rather than squeezing, you should now be using both
hands, and twist your foot in the opposite
directions. You should start at your toes, and work
up to your ankles, and back down. Once again, one of
your hands should be inside of your foot, and the
other should be outside of your foot.
Gently Perform Strokes
Your foot needs to be warmed up to make sure you
start the strokes. You should use the fingers of
your both hands to perform the strokes at the top of
your foot. You also need to use your thumbs to
perform strokes at the bottom of your foot.
Once again, you should start at your toes, and work
up to your ankles and back down. You need to find
the grooves between your tendons and bones of the
feet, and apply gentle strokes in the areas. You
shouldn’t overlook the areas around your ankle
bones.
Start on the Toes
The next step is to shift your focus toward your
toes. You should find the areas where your toes bend
with your fingers at the top of your foot, and your
thumb at the bottom of the foot. This area is called
metatarsophalangeal joint. You need to make circular
motions in these areas from toe 1 to toe 5. It’s
better to start with toe 5 or little toe. You should
use the middle finger and index finger at the top of
your toe, and your thumb at the bottom. You should
start at the toe’s base and massage to the toe’s
tip. The next step is to make a circle with your
toe. You should follow this by gently pulling on
your toe. You may even hear your toe pop. You need
to do this for all the toes, and end with your big
toe.
Focus on Toe Interspaces
You should continue with your toes, and run the four
fingers of your one hand in to the four interspaces
of your toes. You should start from the top of your
foot or bottom. You should perform several back and
forth movements. You should finish massaging your
toes by using the index finger at the top and your
thumb at the bottom. You should also massage the toe
interspaces, and stroke these interspaces by pulling
the thumb and index finger toward you.
Bottom of the Foot
The next step is to focus at the bottom of your
foot. You should start with the thumbs, and make
circular motions, followed by strokes both down and
up, and even side to side. If you want more
pressure, you should use the knead and knuckles at
the bottom of your foot. You can finish your foot
massage by performing light strokes with the fingers
at the top of your foot, and the thumbs at the
bottom of your foot. You should start at your toes
and work up above your ankles.
Some Other Tips
A good tip is to put your towels in the dryer to
warm up before you dry the feet. In order to give a
good foot massage, you can choose from many
different techniques. You should use the techniques
you feel comfortable with. When you go from the toes
to above your ankles, you should apply more
pressure. When you’re going from your ankles to the
toes, you should apply less pressure. This helps
push some extra fluid out of your feet. You need to
make sure your leg and foot are properly supported
on a soft surface. This makes sure your entire body
feels relaxed. For some foot massage techniques, you
can even support the foot with one hand. After the
massage, you should wipe off extra lotion or oil to
prevent slipping, and apply socks to seal in the
moisture.
I
was introduced to massageservices.com.sg by my
colleague. My husband and i called for
traditional outcall massage to our home. The
masseurs arrived on time and they are very
professional. We signed a monthly package with
them and we are very happy with their service.
